Doodle Champion Island

Description

Released in 2021 to coincide with the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, it is a full-fledged anime-style sports role-playing game where you play as Lucky, a calico ninja cat. Lucky explores Champion Island and competes in seven different sports mini-games to defeat each sport champion and collect the seven sacred scrolls.

Main Character:
You play as Lucky the Cat, a ninja-athlete cat who arrives at Champion Island, a mystical land where you must:

  • Join one of four teams (Blue, Red, Green, Yellow) to compete for control of the island in a global leaderboard.

  2. Skateboarding - Trick-based platformer.
  3. Archery - Timed aiming challenge.
  4. Marathon - Obstacle-dodging race.
  5. Rugby - Team-based evasion challenge.
  6. Artistic Swimming - Rhythm/music game.
  7. Climbing - Timed puzzle navigation.

The game was Google's largest-ever interactive Doodle and was developed in collaboration with the Tokyo-based animation studio Studio 4°C, featuring anime-style cutscenes and an art style that pays homage to 16-bit Japanese video games and folklore.
